SERRAGLAZE - light redirection systems for
buildings.
Serraglaze is a daylighting system
developed for buildings to reduce the need for artificial lighting
and enhance the comfort of occupants. Serraglaze consists of a patented
acrylic sheet that incorporates minute, precisely shaped and positioned
air pockets “lamellae” that are four times narrower
than the thickness of a human hair. Light hitting the lamellae is
redirected onto a white ceiling which acts as a reflector to increase
daylight at the rear of the room providing more uniform lighting
throughout and a more comfortable environment for occupants of the
room while allowing them to see out.

SERRAGLAZE CANOPY - light redirection systems
for buildings.
Serraglaze installed in an external
canopy “sees” more of the sky than is available in a
vertical window and therefore more light is brought into dark buildings.
Computer modelling has demonstrated that significant increases in
illumination of the interior are provided by Serraglaze as the angle
of the obstruction created by the building (or other obstruction)
opposite increases. Dramatic increases of two to three times the
internal illumination level can be obtained.
